At Lucky 8 Ranch, we pride our self on our animals quality and welfare.  Our animals have vast amounts of land to roam and graze. Our animals are grass fed and finished.


So why choose bison over other meats?  


It's healthier for you. 


Bison is a very nutrient dense meat source.  It has less fat, less calories, and less cholesterol compared to the same serving of other meats.  It also has more protein , iron and vitamin B-12 when compared to the same serving of other meat sources.  Grass fed and finished meat also has a better ration of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids, making it much healthier for your heart.

Amino acids are the building blocks for protein and bison delivers all of the essential amino acids our bodies need. The protein-related role of amino acids is critical in support of our over-all health including a healthy nervous, detox and digestive system and especially the health of our immune system. 

Grass fed and finished meat also contains large amounts of Conjugated Linoleic Acid.  Conjugated Linoleic Acid has many health benefits, including: increased metabolism, increased muscle mass with reduction in fat, strengthens the immune system, reduces abdominal fat, reduces the risk for disease (cancer, heart disease, diabetes, & hyperthyroidism), and it normalizes thyroid function.

By law bison are not allowed to be given antibiotics or growth hormones.  Even if this regulation was not in place we wouldn't want to anyway.  The bison in general are near genetic perfection!
