Lucky 8 Ranch strives to bring a unique one of a kind experience to all of our visitors!

Go on a unique adventure with our most exclusive tour.  Take a ride around the ranch with our ranch manager. If you're a professional photographer this is a great trip for you.  Get up close and personal with the bison and learn how they have stood the test of time. Learn how we take care of these animals and our land.  Cruise the property and take in the amazing views Routt County has to offer with a guide in one of our covered 4 seater side by sides.  Each trip will be tailored to the clients wants and needs.  This tour is offered all year round.

$300 per photographer

$100 per extra passenger

General Private Tour:

$150 per person

What to Bring:

Summer: Water Bottle, Sun Screen, a Hat, & a Camera

Winter: Warm Winter Clothes, Water Bottle, Gloves, & a Camera


What is Provided:

A place to fill up your water bottle & light snacks

Rules & Requirements


  1. All drivers must present a valid driver’s license at check-in (mandatory for all drivers).

  2. Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license. 16 & 17 year old drivers must also be accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license as a passenger.

  3. Solo drivers solo must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.

  4. Must be 5 years old to be a passenger. 

  5. Experience not necessary. Instructions, safety brief and equipment orientation will be provided before tour begins

  6. Children as young as 5 years old may ride as a passenger with a responsible adult or with a guide (based on availability).

  7. Be sure your clothing and personal items will withstand the dirt, the mud, the water and the bouncing around!

  8. We will not be responsible for personal property.

  9. Closed-toe shoes are required for your safety (we provide mandatory eye protection and helmets)

  10. Rental clothing (shirt and pants are available for a $5 wash fee).

  11. Pregnant women or anyone with heart, neck or back problems are not allowed to participate.

  12. Recommended weight per vehicle not to exceed 500 lbs.

  13. Driver is 100% responsible for vehicular damage.  

  14. Helmets & eye protection is required and provided.  


  1. Have fun!

  2. NO SMOKING at anytime throughout the entire tour or on Lucky 8 Ranch property.

  3. Review and understand the operations of the vehicle. Ask Questions!

  4. Wear protective clothing, no sandals or open toed shoes.

  5. Helmets and eye protection is mandatory while in a vehicle.

  6. Must use seat belt/safety harness at all times while in vehicle.

  7. Follow the trail and maintain a "safe" distance from the vehicle in front of you.


  9. Slow is always better & more safe.

  10. Watch out for bison & wildlife. DO NOT APPROACH or ANTAGONIZE. 

  11. If you have vehicle trouble, stop and turn of your engine.  DO NOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE.

  12. If you get separated from the group. Stop and Wait! DO NOT COME LOOK FOR US! We WILL find you.

  13. This is a guided tour. This is not a thrill ride. 

  14. This tour is considered a high adventure tour.  Unless these rule are followed there is a possibility of personal injury or flipping a vehicle. 

  15. Be conscientious of others on the tour, as everyone has a different driving ability.

  16. Go slow, be safe, and watch out for each other.

  17. Be respectful of Lucky 8 Ranch property.  This is our home!

For the safety of everyone in the tour, failure to follow these rules will result in having your driving privileges removed immediately!
